Pew Report: Young Latinos Top Users of Social Media
Latinos keep leading the trends for social media activity, according to a new Pew Report
About 80 percent of U.S. Latino adults engage in social media actions, compared with Whites (70 percent) and Blacks (75 percent).
That finding makes the demographic of young Latinos more important to reach for mobile advertisers, apps, and websites, the report says. The survey shows an increase from 72 percent of Latinos in 2012 to 80 percent now, an increase of 8 percent and a number that advertisers and media companies are taking notice of.
Latinos continue to be the youngest and fastest growing demographic in the United States and, according to Nielsen, they are the most susceptible and responsive to advertising and commercial brands.
The infographic below solidifies the importance of the Latino consumer, which found that Latino adults are 25 percent more likely to follow a brand than the average U.S. adult online.
