‘The Office Pile’ in Downtown Phoenix Named 5th Best in the Nation
By: Cindy G. Castillo
The Office Pile in downtown Phoenix is living proof that much can happen in less than a year.
The multicultural location has been ranked ‘Top 5th Coworking Space’ in the nation in a recent listing from Symmetry50, a firm that specializes in small business bookkeeping.
“It’s an incredible honor because in the rank are companies that have been around for longer than we have, Francisco Aguirre, founder of The Office Pile said, “and we didn’t come to life until nine months ago, so in that short period of time we’ve been able to get this honor bestowed in us.”
The Office Pile is unlike any location. It stands as a small, hidden gem at 2501 N. 7th Street that feels like home from the moment visitors walk in through the doors.
Since August 2014, nearly 60 companies and entrepreneurs have joined the space and more continue to join on a daily basis. It is deemed the fastest-growing space in Phoenix and the only culturally diverse co-working space in the nation.
“It’s a testament what we’re doing. Not only do we have a place that’s unique, but it’s inspirational that our members take great pride on it,” he said, “I think it speaks to the fact that we have a culture and a location place that strives to be excellent.”
The Office Pile offers affordable working spaces for local entrepreneurs and artists. By doing so, they hope to scale this idea throughout the state, the West Coast, and then throughout the country. It’s a space dedicated to members that need to get out of their home to work, or members who are looking to have a physical address for their business. Not only that, but at The Office Pile members will be able to be inspired by other members.
“You’re going to find members who are like you, people who think like you,” Aguirre said, “you’re going to find a community of entrepreneurs, so that’s a great achievement and we’re very proud of it.”
Looking into the future, The Office Pile already has a five-year planned out for its location. In that time, they hope you expand to 8-10 office piles throughout the state, including Tucson and Flagstaff. From there, they hope to expand throughout the West Coast and within ten years, go national.
All in all, The Office Pile wants to encourage entrepreneurs who are still working from home, and are still meeting their clients at a coffee shop to come into their location and make it their office. “That’s one of the things. People sometimes don’t know what co-working is and don’t know that we exist, and we want people to know that we exist.”
