The Hispanic Women’s Corporation (HWC) is getting ready to celebrate 30 years of excellence with an all out celebration.

Linda Mazon Gutierrez, HWC President and CEO, says she’s nothing but thrilled to be hosting this year’s celebration. “It is an exciting time to be a Latina, and our conference reflects the growing influence of Latinas professionally in our community.”

It will all take place on Thursday, September 24th through Friday, September 25th at the Phoenix Convention Center.

The HWC is considered one of the largest and oldest Latina-led nonprofits in the U.S., and this year, it expected to bring together more than 2,000 attendees, businesses, community leaders and public officials in a complete expo hall that will be FREE and OPEN to the public.

“Now more than ever the Hispanic women’s conference serves as a source of inspiration, empowerment, and wealth building among Hispanics,” Gutierrez said.

To celebrate, this year’s second day luncheon will feature a “Red Out! 30 Years of Excellence!” in reference to its logo’s signature red rose. Both ladies and gentlemen are encouraged to sport the color in honor of the celebration.

In addition, the HWC will honor exemplary Latinas and youth who have influenced their industry and have made contributions nationally. Vanessa Slim, who has entered into a partnership with HWC through the Carlos Slim Foundation, will be presenting the Grassroots Leadership Award to Renata Soto.  She is the new chair of the National Council of La Raza (NCLR), the largest Latino organization in the U.S.

Raquel “Rocky” Egusquiza, Senior Vice President of Community Affairs, Hispanic Enterprises and content for NBC Universal in New York will also be honored, along with Angelica Atondo. She is a three-time Emmy award-winning journalist, and nine time nominee, author of two books, motivational speaker and owner of multiple business enterprises.

Sandra Lopez de Haro will not only be awarded during the luncheon, but will also be performing the national anthem at this year’s HWC luncheon. Candy Ramirez, owner of Candy’s Cakes and More in Tucson will be the recipient of the HWC 2015 Small Business Woman of the Year.

To top off the celebration, this year’s Scholarship Benefit Luncheon will be welcoming Alan Ponce, teen mariachi singing sensation, to perform. Alan was a finalist in this year’s “La Voz,” and will be presented with the HWC National Youth Leadership Award.
What began with a few hundred participants 30 years ago has now grown to an audience of thousands.
