Red Rock Ranch Farms Lavender Festival at Concho June 20
Years ago near the White Mountains community of Concho, Mike and Christine Teeple began quietly planting lavender as part of the landscaping on their 130-acre ranch. They’ve now blossomed to a commercial operation and 45,000 lavender plants, including French and English lavenders that are grown and harvested each summer by hand. Mike Teeple says Red Rock Ranch & Farms is one of the largest lavender-growing outfits in the western hemisphere. The public gets a once-a-year chance to visit Red Rock Ranch & Farms during the annual Arizona Lavender Festival, now in its eighth year. The 2013 dates are set for June 20-30.
Events include tours, U-Cut lavender, cooking and craft demonstrations, and lavender oil distillation.
