Phoenix is revving up for some pure adrenaline!

Monster Energy AMA Supercros, an FIM World Championship, will be taking center stage at the University of Phoenix Stadium on Saturday, February 6 for the first time ever.

Some of the best pilots in the world of supercross will be competing for the coveted 450SX Class crown, including Ryan Dungey, Chad Reed, Ken Rockzen, and Zach Commans.

At the age of 19, Commans admits this is only his third supercross race and that the excitement of a live event is still fairly new to him.

“I just turned pro a couple weeks ago so it’s all really new for me, but it’s all really exciting,” he said, “it’s kind of intimidating, but so much fun once you’re out there.”

The University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale has been entirely transformed into a high-octane action track, ready for some of the world’s best BMX athletes performing massive jumps.

“It’s more nerve racking than I ever expected,” Commans said, “I kind of have to tell myself not to look up.”

Adding to the pressure of Saturday’s race is the fact that the venue is now larger. Justin Breyton, another competitor in the race, said this is the first time they’re touching ground in a football field instead of a baseball field.

Breyton’s first supercross race was back in 2006, and he says it’s always good to be back in the Valley of the Sun.

“The fans [in Phoenix are always awesome to race in front of, they get loud, so I’m looking forward to that,” he said.

Those interested in living the excitement of this weekend’s Monster Energy Supercross still have time to get their tickets, by visiting their official website here.
