Burton Barr Central Library is seeking proposals for artist-made altars inspired by the Día de los Muertos (Day of the Dead) tradition for its @Central Gallery. This year’s theme, “Honoring the Spirit of Music,” invites participants to create altars that honor the individuals who brought music into their lives, and reflect how the essence of music has touched – and still touches – their soul.
The exhibit will be on display from Oct. 20 – Nov. 2, 2013. A First Friday reception will be held on Nov. 1. The deadline to submit a proposal is 5 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 19.
