October’s Top 11 Things To Do
October is the month where the temperature starts to go down and things start to get spooky for Halloween. In the Valley, it’s also the month when some of the best concerts and events make their way home for you to catch before they’re gone.

Phoenix Fashion Week @ the Talking Stick Resort
It’s the leading fashion industry event in the Southwest and the most wonderful time of the year for Valley fashionistas — Phoenix Fashion Week, of course. This year, the three-day event returns to the Talking Stick Resort from October 13th – 15th. Doors will open nightly at 5 p.m. for attendees to shop the style villa with some of the most prominent local boutiques and designers. Folks will also get the chance to find out who will win the coveted titles of “Designer of the Year” and “Model of the Year” 2016.

Yandel @ Comerica Theatre
Best known for being the former member of the internationally acclaimed duo “Wisin & Yandel,” the latter decided to go solo in 2003 and is now taking over stages bigger than ever. His second studio album, “De Lider a Leyenda,” was released in 2013 and was certified Gold by the RIAA the following year. The singer and songwriter will be stopping by the Valley on October 18th, featuring special performances by Gadiel, DJ Lobo and Plan B.

Arizona State Fair @ Arizona State Fair Grounds & Coliseum
Did you know the Arizona State Fair attracts more than one million guests every year? That makes it the third highest attended state fair in the country, and a must for you to attend! This year, the fair will feature professional midway rides, the deep-fried goodness we all know and love, animal attractions, national headliners, local entertainment and much, much more. To give you another great reason to visit the Arizona State Fair this year, we’d like to point out that the one and only Luis Coronel has been confirmed as one of the headliners. The regional Mexican music sensation from Tucson will be performing live October 16, drawing in a guaranteed full house. You can bet it’ll be a night of pure romanticism when Intocable hits the Celebrity Theatre stage this month. Arizona Taco Festival @ Salt River Fields
It’s two days of live music, margarita wars, and a massive taco takeover – that’s right, it’s the event we’ve all come to love, the Arizona Taco Festival! If you haven’t noticed, this seems to be the month for Regional music in the Valley! Add Voz de Mando to the list. They will be performing at the Ovations Live! Showroom at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel & Casino on October 14th. Dia de los Muertos Phoenix Festival @ Mesa Arts Center
Late October is also synonym with Dia de los Muertos festivities in the Valley. Starting early this year is the Dia de los Muertos Phoenix Festival taking over the Mesa Arts Center on October 22nd. The event will feature (of course) delicious food, a colorful Mercado and live entertainment featuring performances by Mariachi Corazon de Phoenix, Ballet Folklorico Amistad, Sol Gitana, just to name a few. But the best part? This event is entirely FREE and open to the public.
