Noche de Amistad honors Bañuelos, Nabozny
Mujeres Únicas and Radio 1190 AM are presenting La Noche de Amistad on Friday, Feb. 15 to honor the achievements of the Man and Woman of the Year 2012.
The two honorees of this special “Night of Friendship” are Emilia Bañuelos, a Phoenix immigration attorney, and Julian Nabozny, owner of McDonald’s restaurants and a philanthropist. The two were chosen by Mujeres Únicas morning show and Radio 1190 AM for their “outstanding contributions to the Latino community through volunteerism, activism, and the promotion of social equality.”
This dinner and awards ceremony will be held from 7 p.m. to midnight at the Cedars Banquet Hall, located at 1702 E. Northern Ave., Phoenix. A raffle with ticket sales to benefit the Arizona DREAMers students who are applying for legal status in the United States will be held after the awards ceremony. The celebration will end with a show and dancing.
Tickets cost $35 per person. Corporate tables are still available for $500. To reserve tickets or a table call Joanna Cuevas at 602.489.9075.
Emilia Bañuelos is an immigration attorney and political activist who is supportive of immigrant and DREAMer civil rights. As an immigrant herself, she understands the social inequalities that immigrants face.
Julian Nabozny is an immigrant from Argentina who now owns a chain of McDonald’s restaurants. He is living proof that hard work pays off if you follow your dream. Nabozny is an excellent example of a Latino businessperson who helps those less fortunate.
