 SHORT SYNOPSIS

Sleep Dealer depicts a militarized world in the near future, graphed by closed borders, virtual labor and a global digital network that unifies experiences and minds, three strangers peril their lives to adjoin with each other and breach the fortifications of technology.

David Riker is a New York-based filmmaker and recipient of the Rockefeller, Guggenheim, and Annenberg Fellowships.  Ricker currently teaches screenwriting for Columbia University’s Graduate Film Program. Among Ricker’s numerous successes, was receiving the Waldo Salt Screen Writing Award at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival as a co-writer of the featured film Sleep Dealer.

Alex Rivera, a filmmaker has been making films that explore the borderlands over the past fifteen years. His work focuses on the mental, physical, economic relationships between Latin America and the United States. Rivera’s work conjoins social questions and innovational cinematic language.
