La Sola Songs from Latin America April 28

In the mood for a night of wine and melancholy songs from Latin America? The debut of a new band, La Sola, featuring Casandra, Francisco, Adrian, Omar and Steve, will perform Sunday, April 28, from 7-9 p.m. in the garden of the Phoenix Hostel and Cultural Center,1026 N. 9^th St., the new arts venue in the Valley and a gem in the downtown Phoenix art and culture scene. Donations are $3. The Hostel has been staging other events, such as performances of banned plays – they had 77 people show up for a play by the late, brilliant Boricua playwright/poet Miguel Pinero – and poetry readings. The Hostel is truly another great addition to the downtown arts mix.

The hostel is located in the trendy Roosevelt Row Arts District, and is a brick house with meditative gardens, hammocks, and a rooftop patio for sunset views. For more information visit www.phxhostel.org
