Dress to be worn at the Tony Awards red carpet, part of the Valentina Rose Collection

Rosangelica Cardenas, designer and owner of Blush Boutique in Phoenix will have one of her designes worn at the red carpet of this year’s Tony Awards in City.New York

The dress will be sported by Colleen Jennings-Roggensack, ASU Gammage’s Executive Director, who will also be Arizona’s only Tony Award voter. The 70th Annual Tony Awards will be taking place this Sunday, June 12th at New York City’s beacon Theater.

Cardenas’ dress is part of her Valentina Rose line. The Valentina Rose collection is named after Cardenas’ daughter, who passed away last July.

Hosted by “The Late Late Show” host James Corden, the awards ceremony will recognize the achievement in Broadway productions during the 2015-16 season.

Nominations for the awards were announced back in May by Nikki M. James and Andrew Rannells. “Hamilton” received the most nods with 16 total nominations — the most received by any Broadway production of all time. They were followed by “Shuffle Along” with 10 nominations and the Roundabout Theatre Company’s revival of “She Loves Me” with eight.
