The Best Halloween Thrillers Out on Theaters Around the Valley

If you’re not much of a fan of the dressing up and hitting the streets this Halloween, no worries!
There are plenty of options around the Valley to celebrate the spooky holiday. One thing that’s a must for this time of the month are scary movies. Harkins Theatres from all across the Valley will be showing several Halloween classics and new releases if going in for a scary thriller is just what you want to do this upcoming weekend.
We have compiled the best titles that you do not want to miss
1. Ouija (PG 13) – A group of friends must confront their most terrifying fears when they awaken the dark powers of an ancient spirit board.
2. Horns (R) – Based on the novel by Joe Hill, Horns is a supernatural thriller driven by fantasy, mystery and romance. The film follows Ig Perrish, the number one suspect for the violent rape and murder of his girlfriend, Merrin. Hungover from a night of hard drinking, Ig awakens one morning to find horns starting to grow from his own head and soon realizes their power drives people to confess their sins and give in to their most selfish and unspeakable impulses – an effective tool in his quest to discover the true circumstances of his late girlfriend’s tragedy and for exacting revenge on her killer.
3. Saw: The 10th Anniversary (R) – If it’s Halloween, it must be SAW! This Halloween, Lionsgate will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the theatrical release of SAW, the film that kicked off the most successful horror franchise in history, by bringing it back to theaters nationwide for one week only. The film will open on Friday, October 31st, with select screenings beginning Thursday night, October 30th.
4. TNC Halloween (1978) (R) – A young boy kills his sister on Halloween of 1963, and is sent to a mental hospital. 15 years later he escapes and returns to his home town in order to wreak havoc.
5. Nightcrawler (Not Rated) – A pulse-pounding thriller set in the nocturnal underbelly of contemporary Los Angeles. Lou Bloom, a driven young man desperate for work who discovers the high-speed world of L.A. crime journalism. Finding a group of freelance camera crews who film crashes, fires, murder and other mayhem, Lou muscles into the cut-throat, dangerous realm of nightcrawling — where each police siren wail equals a possible windfall and victims are converted into dollars and cents. Aided by Nina, a veteran of the blood-sport that is local TV news, Lou thrives. In the breakneck, ceaseless search for footage, he becomes the star of his own story.
