Karlee Perez is ready to devote herself “150 percent” to the world of acting.

Formerly a WWE diva known as “Maxine,” Perez made the ultimate decision to step out of the ring and into the spotlight.

Born in Florida with a Spanish, Cuban, Italian, Hawaiian, Irish and Chinese background, Karlee is now showing off her lead role as “Catrina” in the new Emmy-nominated TV series “Lucha Underground.”

Produced by Mark Burnett and Robert Rodriguez, “Lucha Underground” is introducing audiences nationwide to the thrilling and explosive moves of Lucha Libre. The show will now be kicking off its second season on January 27th.

“It’s been incredible. Like with every series, when we started we had no idea what direction it was going to go,” she said.

Looking ahead to season two, Perez feels confident the series will be back bigger and stronger. “I think it’s just going to spread like wildfire and catch a lot more people.”unnamed

Karlee’s character is the central focus of all storylines in the series; and in season two, fans can expect “Catrina” to continue on her newly-attained role as boss.

“On season two I believe we raised the bar past season one, so fans can expect some very entertaining story lines, and even more in depth characters on the show.”

Needless to say, Karlee’s journey in acting has taken off, making her someone to watch out for. One of her goals is to be compared as the female version of Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Most importantly, Karlee is looking forward to the future and the possibilities that her existing experience could bring.

She describes herself as “lucky” to have been able to land the roles she’s played to date. “It tells me I’m doing something right. That I’m going in the right direction.”
