Hailey Sole is only 13 years old, but she’s already leaving her stamp on Hollywood.
A native from Dallas, Texas, she was drawn to acting from the age of four. Her first role was on the TV show “Private Practice,” where she appeared as “Betsey Parker” and was nominated for the “Young Artist Award” for her role.
But her big break came later, on the CBS drama, “Criminal Minds,” where she played Meg Callahan.
Now, Sole has joined the cast of the Netflix series, “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp,” where she plays Amy. The project is an eight-episode miniseries based on the film, “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp.”
The series premiered July 31st on Netflix.
“I’m super excited. Ratings have been through the roof,” she said, “I’m really excited that people are loving it.”
Not only is she exceeding expectations, but she’s also taking advantage of working next to big name A-listers, including John Hamm, Amy Poehler, Elizabeth Banks and multi-Academy Award nominee Bradley Cooper.
“I really enjoyed working with a lot of the actors; they were really nice and interactive with us,” she said. “One thing I’m taking away from them is to just go for it. That’s the biggest thing in comedy — just going for it. I’ve learned that you just have to put yourself out there and do the best that you can.”
Other projects Sole’s has been a part of include “The Middle” in 2011, “Harry’s Law” in 2012, and “Parks and Recreation,” also in the same year.
As an actress, Sole has the whole world going for her. Among other things, she says she would love to keep exploring acting on the big screen.
“I’ve done one movie and it was a lot of fun,” she said, “I think I would really love to do more of that. Or just have a series, or a TV show — that’s also really awesome.”
Sole is inviting everyone on Netflix to tune in and try “Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp” — not only for its out-of-this-world cast, but also its story.
“It’s hilarious, everyone loves the people that are in it,” she said, “there are so many things that everyone loves and it’s just really funny and there’s such a good story behind it — anyone can relate to it.”
“Wet Hot American Summer: First Day of Camp” is now available on Netflix.
