Mother of Bruno Mars Dies Unexpectedly
Latin singer Bruno Mars faced heart wrenching news Saturday of the loss of his mother.
Bernadette Hernandez unexpectedly passed on Saturday in Bruno Mar’s home state of Hawaii. The mom of one of today’s most popular pop singers died of a brain aneurysm. Hernandez was 55 years old.
Bernadette, a hula dancer and singer from the Philippines, inspired Bruno’s love of music. A publicist for Mars’ label, Atlantic Records, told the Associated Press that Hernandez passed away in Honolulu, Hawaii at Queens Medical Center.
Mars bought his mother a house in Hawaii earlier this year, telling Gulf News, “That was the most beautiful moment ever. I bought my mom a nice house in Hawaii, and that was before I got anything for myself,” he said. “I had to take care of mom.”
Mars is one of pop’s top acts with several No. 1 hits including his most recent, “When I Was Your Man.” His mother nurtured her son’s interest in music at an early age, our condolences go out to the family as well as the support from the Hollywood community.
