Adrienne Bailon Talks 'Church Girl' and her Future

“God’s timing is perfect timing,” Adrienne Bailon said about the release of her new film “I’m in Love with a Church Girl.”

The 29-year-old belleza stars as “church girl” Vanessa Leon in this movie, which shares the powerful, inspiring story of a love between a man and a woman; the gift of second chances; and a family that never stops praying and believing.

Latina Magazine sat down with Adrienne to get the scoop on “I’m in Love with a Church Girl” and her plans for 2014.

What sort of connection did you have to your character Vanessa?

I think I have a really similar experience to her, because yes I am a church girl, I grew up in the church. But at the same time, even with my current boyfriend, we had a lot of conversations that we have in this movie. I would tell Galley [Molina] how it was so funny that the first birthday I ever spent with my boyfriend was very similar to Miles’ [played by Ja Rule] birthday scene. And I was like, are you watching me? Are you big brothering me? So those kinds of conversations about church and faith were just very relatable.
