2013 Billboard Awards Excitement
The 2013 Billboard awards were full of excitement and had a surprising large Latino presence. For starters, the beloved Bruno Mars kicked off the show, which aired live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The 27-year-old singer, who was nominated for four Billboard awards, performed the upbeat “Treasure” along with his band, all dressed in red suits below golden disco balls.
Christina Aguilera also created a lot of buzz at the awards show, revealing a much slender figure in a small black dress during her “Feel This Moment” performance with Pitbull. The 32-year-old coach from The Voice looked and sounded great!
Aguilera and Mars weren’t the only Latinos whose performances rocked. Selena Gomez performed her new infectious single “Come And Get It” again, the young singer actress’s career is booming and after her performance she continues to gain fans.
Though nominations abounded for Mars, the only one to snag awards was the late Jenni Rivera, who won “Top Latin Artist” and “Top Latin Album” for her album, La Misma Gran Senora. Brazilian singer Michel Telo won the “Top Latin Song” award for his obessive “Ai Se Eu Te Pego.” We’re still jamming to that.
The most dangerous performance of the night came courtesy of Miguel. During his performance of “Adorn,” the 27-year-old crooner jumped and landed on a poor girl’s head. Miguel has had social media stirred from all of the commotion of the evening.
