Style Fall Tips: 5 Stylish Ways to Tie Your Scarves
By Caitlin Ultimo | Studio One
Fall brings pumpkin-flavored everything, the return of our favorite TV shows and scarf weather! I must say, the latter is one my favorite parts of autumn. Scarves don’t just help you layer up as the mercury drops, they also add a stylish pop of color to any outfit. Printed or bold, soft and long, or thin and fringed, our favorite fall fabric is a great way to make a statement.
This season, instead of just throwing your scarf around your neck, try one of these five ways to create a pretty knot, courtesy of Scarves Dot Net.
Artsy
Twist up this stylish look to add some interest to the most basic outfit. Simply center the scarf at the back of your neck and twist it until almost the entire scarf is coiled. When it begins to curl around itself, loop it around your neck a second time and tie a knot to keep it in place. Keep tying knots until you achieve your desired look.
Classic Chic
Add some retro flair with this over-the-shoulder scarf style. Fold a triangle or square scarf in half, and place it around your neck with the pointed side hanging down your back. Tie a loose knot on one side near your collarbone and slip the other end through the knot loop and tighten.
Pretty Perfection
Finish off a cute button-down with this knot. To start, place the scarf around your neck so both sides hang evenly down the front. Then, tie a bow as you would on a sneaker. You can tighten the knot and keep it high around your neck or tug at the sides so it lays loose.
Scholarly Style
Knotted and wrapped, this scarf style will keep you snug and looking smart. Begin by folding the scarf in half and placing it around your neck with the loop on one side. Pull one of the ends through the loop, twist the loop and pull the other end of the scarf through the loop. Then adjust the scarf to fit so it lies flat on your chest.
Trendy and Fun
Party-ready, this look can be dressed up using a sequined style or dressed down by sticking with a jewel-toned shade. Using a skinny scarf, loop it around your neck once, then simply tie the ends in a knot. Finish by placing the knotted ends where you see fit.
