Models and Jeans Oh My! Phoenix Fashion Week’s Top 40
In nightlife last week we posted a photo gallery highlighting Phoenix Fashion Week’s Top 40 models in their model of the year search. Well, I have to say the event was super fun and super glamorous, but what I really want to chat about is the outfit that every model wore for his or her runway walk: A basic black tank and a sexy pair of jeans for the ladies and a basic black T with a sexy pair of blue jeans for the guys. So why would this high fashion show choose such a simple and homogenous outfit for everyone to wear? Well, let me tell you all…there is nothing sexier or more gorgeous than a man or a lady who can make the simple stand out. Oh and the new faces chosen by Phoenix Fashion week for this year’s show definitely stand out.
How Can I Find the Perfect Pair of Jeans for Me?
Oh, chica I am so glad you asked! Well, it’s all about shape and fit. The key to finding the perfect pair of jeans is to find the pair that highlights what you want to highlight and camouflages the not so perfect parts. No matter your body type, looking as good as the chicas vying for Top Model status with Phoenix Fashion week is possible. Just follow some simple fashion rules.
Apple Shape: If you tend to carry your weight on top, avoid muffin top by opting for a lower rise boot cut shape. This will help balance you out. Avoid skinny jeans or tapered ankles, and make sure the waist fits just below your belly button and isn’t too small.
Curvy/Hourglass: An Hourglass shape can be highlighted by the newer high-rise, high-waist styles out on the market. Avoid the mom jean look by choosing cool colors or a skinny style.
Athletic Build: Have an athletic body? Choose a skinny jean in a dark wash and you are good to go.
Plus Size: When you are plus sized go for a lower rise and a straight-legged style. Oh, and a dark wash will elongate and slim your look.
So now you know how to choose some great jeans for your shape!
The next Challenge for the model hopefuls is a runway walk…let’s see how they all do at the Shop the Garment District Challenge. You can bet I’ll be there too choosing some high style outfits and giving you tips for claiming some couture for your very own.
