It is safe to say we probably all have a regret or two, especially when it comes to fashion. When we take a look back at some of our earlier styles we thought were just so trendy, we come to face reality and realize that look is better left in the past.

Fortunately for civilians, it is much easier to delete a picture of a bad fashion day than it is for celebrities who are constantly reminded of their not so better days, especially a celebrity of the First Lady’s caliber. Scene as classy and powerful, there are not many fashion moments that have brought negative attention to First Lady Michelle Obama. However, one she admittedly regrets happened right here in the valley of the sun on an Obama family trip in 2009.

The First Lady was photographed exiting Air Force One wearing a white top, open button-up shirt, sneakers, and pair of gray shorts. This led the public to criticize and questions if the First Lady is “allowed” to bare her legs.

The First lady said she regretted it because it caused “a huge stink” and “because people were like, ‘she’s wearing shorts getting off of Air Force One.’…Sometimes I forget I’m the first lady and I’m running around in shorts.” Her mindset at the time was, “We’re on vacation,” she explained.

Though some might have been offended, summers in Arizona aren’t exactly slacks and blazer weather, especially for a casual family vacation.
