Irma Deihl: Combining the Community with her Passion for Fashion
By: Taylor Pineda
Irma Deihl is always giving back to the community. However, she has one guilty pleasure: she is a shopaholic. A smart shopaholic at that!
Giving something as valuable as her time and experience back to the community, she has rightfully become an accomplished fashionista.
Driven by passion from her community involvement, her successful career, and her ability to dress with grace and class, Irma abides by this styling rule: “It is not about the amount you spend, but how you assemble.”
Irma can attest to this through her extensive sunglass collection and infamous shoe collection. It is about the ability to mix and match your items while getting the best bang for your buck.
One may wonder where such a fashionista may have found such exquisite clothing. Irma credits some of her best finds to Neiman Marcus Last Call and Saks Fifth Avenue. They provide clothing from her favorite local designers and a “great large collection.”
One particular garment that Irma is especially proud of, is a tremendous Oscar de la Renta long purple dress that actress Jessica Biel wore. Being the savvy shopper Irma is, she waited patiently until the $9,000 priced dress was a steal for $399, and bought the shorter version embodied by a corset lining and silky fabric.
Although this purchase is impressive, Irma’s fashion is most recognized for her impeccable shoe collection. It’s built quite the reputation, and she adds that it doesn’t hurt to be friends with the people working at her favorite stores. For example, she shared how she purchased some of her favorite designer shoes, such as Jimmy Choo, for nearly a fifth of the original price. She also mentions how Saks Fifth Avenue locally has the largest collection of designers. Other designers that Irma favors are Valentino, Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen and Chanel, but it is evident that Irma embraces the individual pieces over the predominant labels.
