Highlights of Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week
At the CZAR By Cesar Galindo presentation during Spring/Summer 2014 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, CZAR designer Cesar Galindo commented to Latina Magazine about his collection and the current state of fashion.
“The inspiration for the show is the idea of virtual travel and a fast paced lifestyle,” shares Galindo. The vibe is urban, artsy and downtown offered in a variety of silhouettes, created for with every woman in mind. The collection dons a techno palette of neon pinks, electric blues and metallic.
Galindo is fully aware of just how powerful media is in the Fashion industry. “The dictatorship of fashion before was a delayed reaction to the consumer,” offers Galindo. “The exposure you get in the world via journalists and bloggers is now instantaneous.”
Other designers aware of the media’s pull is Uruguayan designer Gabriela Perezutti-Isacson. Using fantastical fashion ideas and lots of white lace, pointed flats and a couple bottles of hairspray. Isacson got quite the media attention at the show.
“The inspiration for the collection was sailing, nautical things,” lead hair stylist Amy Farid told Latina Magazine. “Gabriela sails, her husband is big sailor. So we’ve created this woman who is a fancy lady going to the Caribbean with her friends. They have this immaculate hair that is super structured and makeup done.”
Perezutti-Isacson’s clothes are styles that we could actually wear and not some over-the-top pieces that are simply nice to look at. They are attainable and wearable.
