skin care 1By Taylor Pineda

Summer is a time to feel sexy, have fun and look great, but with heat like we have here in the Valley, what can Latinas do to stay beautiful despite the overbearing sun?

Take care of your mind, your body and most importantly your skin. Often because of the skin pigments Latinos have, whether it be olive undertones or deeper browns, Latinas still tan! The common assumption is that if you don’t “burn” in the sun, it is not harming your skin.  This means many Latinas may not have concerns of harming their skin.

Truth is, regardless of your skin tone, any sun exposure puts you at risk of getting a sun-related illness, but taking the time to add sunscreen will reduce this risk. Try using a tinted sunscreen product to enhance your golden tan safely. A tinted sunscreen can provide an even, tanned glow to your skin, moisturizing and protecting it at the same time. Juice Beauty’s tinted lotion is a good choice, since it combines mineral-based moisturizers, full-spectrum SPF, organic juices and antioxidants. More importantly, it will keep you healthy, fresh and radiant.

Increases in temperatures also means increases in body heat. Unless you plan to carry an ice bath with them, there is certainly no way to keep cool all summer long, which leads to an unfortunate increase in sweating and oil. Now there is no way to completely stop sweating, but there are ways in helping your makeup from looking oily as it often can start to do in the summer.

Primarily switching to a powder versus a liquid foundation will reduce the “caked” look of makeup that women may get when they sweat. Another great alternative is simply using a bronzer on areas of the face such as the cheek bones and temple to give you a fresh beach glow. Although we are all beautiful in our own ways, some may still want more coverage than that a bronzer would provide.

Oil absorbing tissues may be the trick to keeping your skin radiant without that shiny, oily, summer sweat. Jean Pierre™ Oil-Absorbing Tissues instantly soak up excess oil and removes shine from your face without smudging your makeup and can be used anytime, anywhere throughout the day. They also help to prevent blemishes by removing excess oil and impurities.

Latinas can look great all summer long by prioritizing a healthy amount of attention to their beautiful skin.
