long hairThe summer sun in Arizona is next to impossible to avoid, and your hair may be facing the most damage from the excessive heat, not to mention all the other activities that come with summer such as swimming in chlorinated pools and our regular hair regimens such as highlighting, priming and pressing hair. Needless to say we put many chemicals in our hair as it is and with the extreme heat and chlorine from pools, we are breaking and damaging our hair even more so during the warmer months.

A great home remedy to remove such build up is using a vinegar rinse. Yes, vinegar! By mixing one part vinegar one part water in to a spray or squirt bottle and applying to your hair after you shampoo for a few minutes then rinsing the treatment out, it helps to remove harsh chemicals and regenerate the hair. In fact such a difference in the hair can be seen by the difference in texture preceding your wash; the hair should appear stronger and less brittle. The vinegar wash can be done once every couple days, you do not want to do so every time you shower for you don’t want to compete with the natural balance of buildup texture on your hair, but by doing this treatment a few times a week you should begin to see less brittle, healthier hair.
