Use the right products to care for your hair
By Lisa Fresa Palacios
When a new product is on the shelves of our respective salons, we immediately purchase the latest and greatest oils, creams, shampoos and treatments, etc. Most of us have cabinets full of barely used products.
Think of hair care as if it were skin care. Less is more, there is only so much our hair can handle and absorb. If you are the 99 percentile who require using styling tools such as blow dryers, curling irons and flat irons. all you need are five simple principal products.
1. Shampoo
2. Conditioner
3. Heat protectant
4. Finishing spray
5. Weekly strengthening treatment
Choose a shampoo that compliments your locks; if you obtain chemical services, use a sulfate-free line. Please remember that many shampoos and conditioners contain harsh, drying sulfates that are extremely damaging to
hair (ammonium laureth sulfate, ammonium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate, sodium lauryl sulfate, etc.). These common detergents found in shampoos make curly hair frizzy and uncooperative. Conditioner can be used sufficiently to clean the hair. Also, more gentle shampoos that contain mild cleansers (i.e. cocamidopropyl betaine or coco betaine) can be used occasionally or more often for wavier hair types.
If you are working towards repairing damaged dry or fragile hair, use a hydration moisturizing line it will give you the accurate subtleness needed. Fine hair? Stick to volume enhancing labels, keeping in mind to first and most important read the ingredients content
