Sights and Sounds for the Suns Training Camp
By Francisco Romero. – As the 2016-17 NBA season approaches, the Phoenix Suns continue their training camp. Earl Watson’s squad has already played a handful of preseason games and are diligently working towards the beginning of the season. Many are the aspects of their game that they must work on. The following are sights and sounds from their training camp.
Earl Watson, Suns head coach: “It is interesting to have three games in five days, it’s pretty tough to start the season out. Training camp is long enough, so we are trying to bump them up slowly. Game shape and practice shape is different; so when we build game-shape bump up some minutes so the guys can star feeling the game and sharpen up their skills.”
Dragan Bender, Forward: “So far we look great, we definitively have some things that we need to improve on and work on; but that is going to come as we play more and more games, it is going to come to us naturally. It is really fun to be on the court and play with these guys.
Tyler Ulis, Guard: “I am trying to get my groove, coming off the bench its new, so I have to find a way to keep myself warm in a game and not take so long to get warmed up.”
Brondon Knight, Guard: “Just to get a feel for routine, what it takes. Just scheduled and experience, from preseason develop a routine. We compete in everything we do and we have fun. We got great guys here, we all get along and that is the biggest part.
The first regular season game for the Suns will be Wednesday October 26th against the Sacramento Kings and as head coach Watson mentioned, the Suns will play three games in five days. On October 28th the Suns will take on Oklahoma City and the Golden Stare Warriors on October 30th.
