Mexico on to Hexagonal After Beating Canada; Colombia Over Ecuador

Mexico beat Canada 2-0 at Estadio Azteca in Mexico City to advance.

Both Mexican goals were scored during the first half of the match. A first half that watched Mexico dominate from start to finish.

Andres Guardado scored at the 17th minute of the match on a penalty kick and the second score came at half’s end by Jesus “Tecatico” Corona.

The second half was more evenly played, but neither team could scores.

The fans at Estadio Azteca were left wanting another score, perhaps two.

“We understand that we have to improve over time, the guys understand what we need to do to play well; there are a lot of aspects of our game that we have to improve at,” said Mexico’s head coach Juan Carlos Osorio.

Overall Osorio felt satisfied with his team’s performance.

With the victory against Canada, Mexico is the first to qualify for the Hexagonal stage of CONCACAF World Cup qualifying en route to Russia 2018 World Cup.

Colombia Beats Ecuador

The Colombian National Team beat the leader of the group Ecuador 3-1 in a World Cup qualifying game.colombia fut

The Estadio Metropolitano de Barranquilla was vibrant and electrifying as Carlos Bacca and Sebastian Perez scored for Colombia. Bacca scored twice, first at the 15th minute of the game and his second goal went into the net at the 67th minute.

Sebastian Perez scored at the 48th minute of the game.

More than 40,000 fans cheered for the local team.

Michael Arroyo scored for Ecuador at the 89th minute for Ecuador.

Colombia dominated throughout the game

The victory places Colombia one step closer to Russia 2018.

Colombia’s next qualifying game will be against Ecuador in September.

With the victory Jose Pekerman’s team has 10 points, Ecuador continues in fist place with 13points.
