Arizona Wildcats Football Team to Practice in Tempe at Cardinals Training Facility
By Francisco Romero. – Heartache and pain surround the Arizona Wildcat football family after the sudden death of senior center Zach Hemmila Monday morning.
At the young age of 22, Hemmila apparently died in his sleep, the cause of death has yet to be determined.
Led by head coach Rich Rodriguez and Athletic Director Grey Byrne the football players and staff are receiving the necessary support to cope with grief.
The support the Wildcat program is receiving is coming from everywhere and the Arizona Cardinals are no exception to offer much needed help to the Arizona football program.
As hard as it may be the team needs to prepare for the upcoming season and was schedule to practice on Tuesday.
Weather issues prevented the team from getting on the practice field, therefore suspending practice.
The Arizona Cardinals offered the Tempe practice facilities for the Wildcats to practice and Rich Rodriguez graciously accepted. The team will meet with the media late Wednesday morning and head to Tempe for an afternoon practice.
The Wildcats will also practice in Tempe on Thursday and will continue their regular camp in Tucson on Friday.
Being away will surely benefit the Arizona Wildcat football team, as they have had to deal with a very difficult situation in the last 72 hours. As painful as it may seem, the players who will wear the cardinal red and navy blue during the season will grow from this experience and will turn them into better young men.
Having friends and support like the Arizona Cardinals goes a long way.
The Wildcats open the season on September 3rd against BYU, the game will be played at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale, kickoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
