Councilman Michael Nowakowski is inviting residents to honor Cesar Chavez’s legacy by participating in a day of service in District 7 on Saturday, April 2 from 7:15 – 11 a.m. The event will include more than 250 volunteers, including children who will be painting a mural in the neighborhood.
“This community clean-up is chance for residents to give back and honor a great leader,” Councilman Nowakowski said. “In the spirit of Cesar Chavez, I encourage everyone to participate in a day of service, by helping out in your neighborhood and community.”
Registration for the Day of Service begins at 7:15 a.m. and is being conducted in partnership with the Support Sky Harbor Coalition and the Phoenix Neighborhood Services and Public Works Departments. Individuals or groups interested in volunteering should contact the event coordinator at yesenia@goodmanschwartz.com or 602-277-0911.
The neighborhood clean-up is located in the St. Matthew’s neighborhood and will focus on the areas of 19th Avenue and Madison to 20th Avenue and Fillmore and 19th Avenue and Van Buren to the I-17 freeway.
