When it comes to ex Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez might not be so sick of that same old love after all. Or, she’s just incredibly hopeful. Cause after years of ups and downs, make-ups and break ups, and personal digs that played out on social, it seems #Jelena is back on and the reason isn’t all that surprising.

People reports that the 25-year-old “Fetish” singer just never got over the 23-year-old bad boy. “Justin was Selena’s first love,” a source told the mag. “He will always have a special place in her heart. She’s always held out hope that one day the circumstances and timing would be right.”

A recent breakup and health scare (Gomez had a life-saving kidney transplant earlier this year) might have had a hand in that now-perfect timing—there’s nothing like a life or death situation to make you reevaluate what, and who, is important.

And despite all of the Biebs salacious behavior over the years the source also says Gomez “always saw the best in him.”

That undying faith might finally be paying off, based on a statement that the “Despacito” singer’s team released about the everlasting duo: “They’re having a great time together. Neither are seeing anyone else and they seem happy to leave it at this for now.”

“Spending time together makes them both very happy. For Justin, no one ever came close to comparing to Selena. He always thoughts she was the most special and now seems mature enough to realize Selena deserves the best.”

If that’s true, these two might just be this generation’s greatest (or at least most fun to watch) love story.

While the pair has yet to officially announce their new couple status, they have been spending a lot of time together, going for very public bike rides and attending church services.
