Chase Field, considered by many to be the most fan-friendly and affordable ballpark in the country, will host the first game at Chase Field in 2014, an exhibition game against the Chicago Cubs, this Friday at 6:40PM. The D-backs’ home opener for the regular season will take place on Monday, March 31 at 6:40 p.m. against the San Francisco Giants. The D-backs will introduce a number of additions to the ballpark in order to enhance the fan experience, including new concession options and unique food items in collaboration with restaurant partner Levy Restaurants.
This season, D-backs fans can enjoy several new concessions items, including the D-bat Dog and the Venom Dog. The D-bat Dog, available at Big Dawgs, is an 18-inch corn dog stuffed with Cheddar cheese, jalapeno and bacon, served with chipotle ketchup, spicy mustard and fries, available for $25. Fans can spice it up with the new Venom Dog, a specially crafted foot-long habanero sausage topped with black beans, guacamole, pico de gallo and sour cream, available for $10 at Red Hot! Grill locations.
The D-backs are also offering a new vegan option this year with the Bisbee Tamale and will be available at A-Zona for $8. The Bisbee Tamale, which gets its name from its origins in Tucson, is a local vegan tamale stuffed with soy chorizo, potatoes and pinto beans topped with salsa roja and guacamole. A new cocktail creation this season, the D-backs will offer the “We Back Jack”, available at the Jack Daniel’s location in section 117, which includes a mixture of Jack Daniel’s Tennessee Whiskey, Blood Orange Puree, Citrus Mix and Simple Syrup.
In addition to the new food items, the D-backs have added concessions and more locations for fans to enjoy the unique culinary creations. There will be two Wetzel’s Pretzels locations (section 120 and 320) that will offer pretzels and lemonade at each stand. The new Altos Margarita Island, located along the main concourse at section 109, will serve up frozen margaritas as well as margaritas on the rocks for fans ages 21-plus.
The Coors Light Strike Zone has been renovated to include more seating and new furniture for fans to enjoy some of the best views in the ballpark from right field along the main concourse. With no reserved seats, plenty of seating is available on a first-come basis to watch a D-backs game with a group of 30 or more guests. The Coors Light Strike Zone also features a pool table, 10 plasma televisions, full-service bar and cocktail staff and a front-row seat to watch the pre-game and post-game FOX Sports Arizona broadcast.
