Then There Was Two: Broncos – Seahawks to Play Super Bowl XLVIII
Let the Super Bowl party begin! The best offense in the NFL will face the best defense in their quest for the Vince Lombardi Trophy.
Two weeks of speculation, two weeks of breaking down every possible play, two weeks of quarterback conversations will come down to one game and one game only on Sunday February 2 at MetLife Stadium, East Rutherford, New Jersey.
The matchup of the 2014 Super Bowl edition is one made up in football heaven.
The Denver Broncos and its future Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning had a great offensive year. This season Manning threw for 5,477 passes and 55 touchdowns. Denver finished the season first in total offense, first in passing offense and first in scoring. Denver was a No. 1 seed in the playoffs.
The Seahawks were also a No. 1 Seed and on the flip side finished the season with the best defense in the league. Seattle finished the season with the number one total defense, number one passing defense and the best scoring defense.
Denver beat New England 26 – 16 for the right to play in the Super Bowl, while Seattle beat San Francisco 23 – 17.
One of my favorite storylines for this year’s Super Bowl is the quarterback matchup. How will Seattle’s Russell Wilson perform in one of the biggest stages of professional sports against a veteran Peyton Manning?
Wilson has always been undervalued; in fact he almost decided to take a shot at playing professional baseball. The Rangers selected Wilson off the Rockies’ roster in last month’s Triple-A portion of the Rule 5 Draft.
On the other hand it seems like its just another day at the office for the four time NFL MVP Manning.
Broncos – Seahawks should be a great one!
