The University of Arizona Basketball Team Shows Off New Uniforms

After finishing the 2013 – 2014 season with a record of 33 – 5 and 15 – 3 in Pac-12 play, once again the Arizona Wildcats will be favorites to win the conference and will be expected to make a serious run to be national champions.

For the upcoming season the basketball team will be playing in a renovated McKale Center.  The facility is on the verge of completion on a $30 million dollar renovation project.

The renovation is expected to be completed by September 1^st.

As the renovation at McKale Center continues, the Men’s Basketball team unveiled its new uniforms.

UA’s new uniform lineup will include five looks – white trimmed with navy, white trimmed with red, navy trimmed with red, red trimmed with navy and gray trimmed with both navy and red.

“Our entire team is excited about receiving these new uniforms,” senior T.J. McConnell said. “Not only are they going to look great, but the technology that went into making them will benefit us on the court.

The uniforms were designed to honor those Wildcat teams of the past.  The side paneling and trim of the new uniforms pay tribute to the uniforms the Wildcats wore for roughly a decade beginning in the mid-1990’s, a period that cemented Arizona’s place among the nation’s elite college basketball programs.

During that period in Arizona Basketball the Wildcats won the 1997 national championship and finished second in 2001.

“So many great players in Arizona history wore similar uniforms, and it’s nice to be able to honor them while we try to do some of the same great things on the court,” added T.J. McConnell while describing the new uniforms.
