At least that’s according to new research released by the London School of Economics, which found that the link between intelligence and a longer life is up to 95-percent genetic.

The study affirms that children who score higher in IQ-type tests are prone to live longer.

Also, people at the top of employment hierarchy, such as CEOs. In both cases, researchers are still not sure why this is.  Their new research shows that the link is mostly in the genes.

Dr. Rosalind Arden, a research associate with the organization said it’s important to note that the relationship between IQ and lifespan is small.

This study is the first to test for a generic association between intelligence and lifespan. It was published in the International Journal of Epidemiology.
