Since 1947 Arizona has been home for Major League Baseball teams during the spring.   This year is no different, once again, players from 15 teams will report to camp in less then two weeks to start the Cactus League.

15 teams make their spring training home in Florida (The Grapefruit League).

Pitchers and catchers will report to their respective camps around February 15, while the rest of the players will report a week after that.

The Arizona Diamondbacks train in one of the finest Spring Training facilities in the Valley at Salt River Fields at Talking Stick, a complex they share with the Colorado Rockies.

The Diamondbacks are expected to compete in the National League West, where the Los Angeles Dodgers the San Francisco Giants and the Colorado Rockies will make a run at the post season.

Amongst the teams expected to make a serious run at the playoffs, this upcoming season, and train in the valley are the Texas Rangers, the Los Angeles Angels and the Cleveland Indians.

The Diamondbacks recently announced contract extensions for general manager Kevin Towers and manager Kirk Gibson making sure they come into camp without worrying about their contracts.
