Six Pac-12 Teams in the AP College Football Top 25 Preseason Poll

With just a few days away from the start of the 2014-15 college football season, the Associated Press released its preseason poll. 

Six Pac-12 teams have been voted in the Top 25 poll: No. 3 Oregon, No. 7 UCLA, No. 11 Stanford, No. 15 USC, No. 19 ASU and No. 25 Washington.

Florida State, last year’s national champion was ranked number one, followed by Alabama, Oregon, Oklahoma and Ohio State, as the top 5 teams.

This is the first time ASU has been ranked in the preseason Top 25 poll since 2008.  The Sun Devils were picked to finish third, this season, in the Pac-12 South.  

Arizona State finished the 2013 season with a record of 10-4.

The University of Arizona Wildcats was not included in the Top 25 poll.  Arizona’s tough schedule this season will include games against five ranked opponents:  Oregon (Oct. 2), UCLA (Nov. 1), No. 15 USC (Oct. 11), No. 19 ASU (Nov. 28) and No. 25 Washington (Nov. 15).

The Sun Devils will open the season against Thursday August 28th against Weber State in Tempe, while the Wildcats will host UNLV on Friday August 29th.
