ZOMBIE-THEMED POST-GAME FIREWORKS presented by GILA RIVER CASINOS

ZOMBIE NIGHT: More than 1,000 Zombies are expected to attend a pregame Zombie Walk around the warning track at 5:45 p.m. Throughout the night, the D-backs will welcome the “un-dead” for a night full of fright that includes prizes and giveaways from the hit AMC show “Walking Dead,” Zombiefied player headshots on dbTV and a Gila River Casinos postgame fireworks show set to Zombie-like music. There will also be a haunted maze with Zombie actors provided by 13th Floor Productions that all fans are welcomed to experience along the main concourse behind the Coors Light Strike Zone. In addition, Baxter will designate kids as “Official Zombie Hunters” and multiple make-up artists will be available for kids to get their faces painted at the Phoenix Children’s Hospital Sandlot.

 

UNITED STATES NAVY SECRETARY TO THROW OUT CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH: U.S. Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. Mabus will be in town for a presentation of the U.S.N.S. Yuma and will speak at Arizona State University. He will also re-enlist members of the U.S. Navy on the field during a special pregame ceremony.

 

HELPFUL HONDA FRIDAYS: At every Friday home game, the Helpful Honda team will greet fans along the plaza with game day essentials, such as personal misters and sunscreen. They will also surprise fans with $20 D-bucks gift cards and some lucky Honda owners will receive seat upgrades to enjoy the game from a luxury suite, complete with free food and drinks. In addition, 50 Honda cars will receive complimentary parking at the Chase Field Garage on Helpful Honda Fridays. The Helpful Honda team will also lead D-backs fans in the singing of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” during the 7th Inning stretch and game-goers are invited to stop by the Chase Field Rotunda to view the latest Honda vehicle on display.

 

CHOIR NIGHT: More than 250 local elementary and middle school kids will sing the national anthem from the warning track.

 

COORS LIGHT FRIDAY NIGHTS: D-backs fans can enjoy happy hour drink specials and music from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Coors Light Strike Zone. All fans are welcomed to the refurbished Coors Light Strike Zone during Happy Hour.

 

SCHOOL FAMILY NIGHT: Local schools will be recognized during a pregame ceremony on the field and will serve as a fundraising opportunity in which proceeds from ticket sales through this program will be donated right back to the schools that participate.

 

PLAY BALL FUND: As a part of the on-going D-backs Give Back charitable efforts, the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation will recognize Play Ball grant recipients during a special pregame ceremony on the field. Throughout the season, the Play Ball Fund, supported by Chase and Western Refining, will award teams, leagues and organizations $1,000 in grants for equipment, training resources and more.  The D-backs will present up to 10 grants per month totaling $10,000.

OUTDOOR RECREATION NIGHT: The D-backs will host a special street festival on the corner of 4th Street and Jackson starting at 1:00 p.m. that will feature several outdoor activities, including a fishing pond, archery range, fly-tying lessons, predator calling, OHV and boating safety, and a reptile petting zoo.

 

CRONISTA INFANTIL AUDITIONS: The D-backs will host auditions for Cronista Infantil with D-backs Spanish radio broadcasters Oscar Soria and Rodrigo Lopez from 10:00 a.m. – NOON at Sanderson Ford in Glendale. Kids ages 8-12 are encouraged to sign up and audition to become one of six participants that will be a guest on the D-backs’ Spanish radio broadcast alongside Soria and Lopez. MYSTERY BALL: The season’s first Mystery Ball will benefit the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation. Fans can purchase grab bags ($40 each) with a ‘Mystery Ball’ inside signed by a D-backs player, coach or alum. Fans can choose from more than 500 grab bags.

 

CHEVROLET ARIZONA ALL-STARS: The D-backs will recognize youth sports leagues in a pregame parade around the field. The event also serves as a fundraiser for youth sports teams. Last year, the program raised more than $85,000 that went back to Little Leagues across the state of Arizona.

 

CHEVROLET “PLAY BALL” KID: Phoenix-area Little League teams will be recognized on the field before the game and one lucky team member will get to say “Play Ball” at the start of the game. Fans can register at a local Chevrolet dealer.

 

GOVERNOR JAN BREWER LEADS FOSTER CARE WALK TO CHASE FIELD: To help kick off National Foster Care Month (May), more than 1,000 foster care families participated in the Hope & A Future’s Annual Strike Out Child Abuse Walk that featured a one mile walk from Civic Center Park to Chase Field, led by Governor Jan Brewer. The families will enjoy the D-backs game and will be recognized, along with Arizona Blue Ribbon Coalition and Hope & A Future, during a special pregame ceremony to honor the families who provide a safe, loving and nurturing home for Arizona’s most vulnerable children.

 

D-BACKS EXPRESS: The D-backs offer a hassle-free way to see a D-backs game for fans in Tucson. A luxury bus will pick up fans at the Foothills Mall (located on the Southwest corner parking area between the food court and Outback Steakhouse) in Tucson and drops off fans in front of Chase Field. BREAKING BARRIERS ESSAY WINNER: Michael Andaloro, a ninth grade student from Veritas Preparatory Academy, will be recognized by the D-backs and Sharon Robinson, Jackie Robinson’s daughter, in a special pregame ceremony.  Andaloro, a native of Phoenix, was chosen as the ninth grade Breaking Barriers Essay winner for 2014 and will also receive a visit from Sharon Robinson at his school on Monday.

 

AUTISM AWARENESS DAY: MLB has teamed up with Autism Speaks in a league-wide effort to support Autism Awareness. The Phoenix Children’s Hospital Sandlot will be exclusively open to Autistic families during the first hour after doors are open to the game. In addition, Autistic families are invited to take part in a pre-game parade around the warning track. There will also be an Autism Expo along the main concourse in Center Field and Autism families will help lead the Run the Bases for Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Jax Masterson, a seven-year-old who is affected by autism which accounts for one in 40 boys in the state of Arizona, will throw out the ceremonial first pitch.

 

KIDS RUN THE BASES FOR PCH: Kids ages 15 and younger are invited to run the bases after the game and can line up on the ramps near section 110 immediately following the game. The Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation will donate $1 to Phoenix Children’s Hospital for every kid that crosses home plate. Maggie Smith will lead the group to run the bases. Smith is a six-year-old former PCH patient who was airlifted after she stopped breathing suddenly as an infant and treated with cooling therapy that allowed her to heal with no signs of brain damage.

 

SUNDAY SLUGGERS NO CHEW CREW SHOW presented by DELTA DENTAL: No Chew Crew Show, presented by Delta Dental, is free to children 15 and younger who pledge awareness of the harmful effects of spit tobacco. No Chew Crew members can enjoy a show with Baxter, hosted by Mike and Vanessa along with Bobby Freeman, from 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m. in the Sandlot. No Chew Crew members receive a free ticket to every Sunday game and a toothbrush, courtesy of Delta Dental, when they pledge awareness of the harmful effects of spit tobacco. COLD STONE KIDS SUNDAYS: Each Sunday home game, one winner is selected to deliver the lineup card to the umpires with a D-backs coach before the game and deliver Cold Stone Ice Cream to the D-backs’ broadcast booths. Winners are selected from applications that can be picked up at a local Cold Stone Creamery location.

MAKE-A-WISH KID TO THROW OUT CEREMONIAL FIRST PITCH: In partnership with Jack in the Box, 12-year-old Make-A-Wish Arizona kid Ellington King will throw out the ceremonial first pitch. King, a native of Phoenix, is battling a life-threatening blood disorder and will receive his wish to go to Disneyland thanks to the D-backs, partner Jack in the Box and Make-A-Wish Arizona. The D-backs, Jack in the Box and Make-A-Wish Arizona have raised a combined $48,000 to make the wishes of King and five other kids come true and will present a check during a special pregame ceremony.

CAREER DAY: The D-backs will host a Career Day for 800 High School students that include a career fair prior to the game on the main concourse along the third base line. The career fair will be highlighted by a panel discussion from D-backs President & CEO Derrick Hall and Vice President of Corporate and Community Impact Debbie Castaldo as well as several top level executives from local companies in Arizona.

 

UNITED BLOOD SERVICES HIGH SCHOOL BANNER NIGHT: The D-backs will recognize high schools with the highest participation in the UBS High School Blood Drive Challenge with a pregame recognition. More than 1,000 kids will be in attendance for their participation.
