Shakira is Going Animated — Announces Role in Disney’s “Zootopia”

Shakira is going animated this year. The “Hips Don’t Lie” Colombiana took to Twitter last week to announce her latest role in the upcoming Disney animated film, “Zootopia.” 

The news was also confirmed at Disney’s D23 Expo, an event for fans in Anaheim, California. Shakira will be voicing the character “Gazelle,” a pop star in the mammal metropolis of “Zootopia.” 

The exciting news doesn’t stop there. Fans will not only be able to enjoy Shakira as the voice of one of the characters, but she will also be singing her original song, “Try Everything,” on the film. It is written by Sia and Stargate.

Jason Bateman and Ginnifer Goodwill will also be starring in the film. 

“Zootopia” is directed by Byron Howard, Rich Moore and Jared Bush and produced by Walt Disney Pictures. The animated comedy is expected to hit theaters everywhere March 4, 2016.
