One down and three-to-go for Ricardo “El Tuca” Ferretti in regards to heading El Tri, as he signed a four-game deal with the Mexican Football Federation.

Friday night was the first game against Trinidad and Tobago, a game that ended up in a 3-3 tie.

After the game Ferretti seemed satisfied with his team’s performance even after having to come back to avoid the loss.

Mexico was 2-0 at one point during the game.

“The guys did an acceptable job,” said Ferretti after the game.  “When we were at our best, a couple of circumstantial goals were scored.”

Ferretti found the game to be entertaining for the fans, “Overall the fans had a lot of fun; six goals were scored overall.”

During Ferretti’s post game conference he talked about the positives of the game and El Tri, “There are a lot of positives and interesting things,” he said.  “The attitude that the players showed was one of them, we scored three goals, individually everyone played at a high level.  Of course there are always things to improve upon and we have to work hard to accomplish that.”

NOTES:  Mexico’s Henry Martin left the game with an injury in his right leg; he will be transported to Tijuana where his team’s (Xolos) doctor will perform a series of tests.

Goals:

       Mexico

  1. Carlos Esquivel (40’)
  2. Daniel Cyrus (OG 56’)
  3. Hector Herrera (85’)

      Trinidad and Tobago

  1. Jonathan Glenn (7’)
