This past Saturday, APS filed and Friendly House organized the annual tamale dinner and festival at the Arizona Center in Downtown Phoenix.
This is a fundraising event with the longest duration in Arizona. The event featured live music and dancing throughout the day and night. Ballet Folklorico quetzalli Spring Folk Dance Co., Rosie’s House, Flamenco Por La Vida, Guitars Latinas, Vox Urbana, Quetzal Guerrero and fayuca, Carmen and Zarco Guerrero was presented and there were local restaurants serving tamales: Manny’s Restaurant, Carolina’s, The Hats, Sylvia’s La Canasta, Mesquite, The Tamale Store, Bitz-ee Mamas, My Food Restaurante Latino, The 15 Sauces, My Rinconcito Chapin Restaurant, and Friendly House also offered tamales. 1130 Canyon Cafe and Restaurant provided food samples in the VIP area.
Attendees had the opportunity to see and hear the presentations of the artists and try different types of tamales all restaurants present. The event was full of fun and was a great success.
