PHOENIX — Phoenix’s Cashman Park, 22222 N. 44th St., will be closed through mid-August for a $500,000 renovation.
“This is an example of the kind of positive solutions that can be fostered through public-private partnerships,” said Vice Mayor Waring. “I applaud the leadership of the Desert Ridge Community Association for putting our children first.
The donation will fund a new playground, fitness/workout stations and improvements to the 10-acre park’s irrigation system. Crews will begin work in the next week.
The park, built in 1996, has several picnic ramadas with grills, lighted basketball courts, two lighted sand volleyball courts, a multi-purpose field, restrooms and a drinking fountain.
