Phoenix Mercury and Waddell & Reed, Inc. to Host a Free Basketball Clinic for Local Youth

PHOENIX – The Phoenix Mercury is teaming up with Waddell & Reed, Inc. to host a basketball clinic for Valley youth on Sunday, July 27 from 2-4 p.m. on the Mercury’s main court at US Airways Center. The clinic is free and open to the public.
Fans interested in participating can RSVP at PhoenixMercury.com/waddell. Registration begins at 1:30 p.m. in the Casino Arizona Pavilion.
Mercury forward and WNBA All-Star Candice Dupree, guard Shay Murphy, head coach Sandy Brondello and assistant coach Julie Hairgrove will be on hand to lead basketball drills including ball handling, shooting, defense and rebounding. Media availability for players and coaches will take place from 2 – 3 p.m.
While the children are learning basketball fundamentals, adults (ages 18 and older) in attendance are invited to attend a brief information-only seminar on the arena’s practice court to learn about saving for college and Waddell & Reed’s Ivy Funds InvestEd 529 Plan. Upon completion of the seminar, each adult will receive two free tickets to see the Phoenix Mercury host the Minnesota Lynx on August 9. Tipoff is scheduled for 7 p.m.*
