The activity is back with evil vengeance on April 8, 2014 when the horrifying urban thriller Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones debuts on Blu-ray Combo, DVD and VOD from Paramount Home Media Distribution.

Jorge Diaz, one of the film’s lead actors understands the challenge in carrying on a film that has become a recognized franchise.

“(At first) we had no idea that it was going to be a Paranormal movie. It was until right before we started shooting,” he said.

This is also the first time a studio from the magnitude of Paramount Home Media Distribution has all Hispanic leads in a movie that gets distributed world-wide.

“I feel like this movie is going to open the doors for a whole new world to explore within (the Latino) culture,” Diaz said.

The film incorporates the urban myths that derive from those with Latino backgrounds, and provides a different twist for the movie than the previous.

“I come from a family of a lot of ghost stories and superstitions, so when they included that scene (with La Limpia), my own grandma did that to me, so when they included that scene, I was like, ‘Oh my God! That’s so cool!’ because they did it in a very legit way,” he said.

Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones expands on the world created by the horror franchise with an intense tale of black magic, superstition and possession set in a gritty urban environment.

 “I don’t even know what’s in (the extended version). The actors are all excited to see what’s in it because they haven’t shown us yet!” Diaz said.

The Blu-ray Combo includes both the theatrical version of the film, as well as an extended, unrated cut, and intense additional found footage not seen in theaters.

 “It’s so much fun to watch it at home with a group of friends. Even if you don’t like scary movies, people tend to love this one. It’s a great time.”
