Nominate inspirational Arizona Latina Trailblazers

Do you know an Arizona Latina who helped shape the modern history of Arizona? Nominate them for Arizona Latina Trailblazers.
That is a joint award by the Phoenix College Raul H. Castro Institute and the Latino Perspectives Magazine. These oral histories look to to capture life stories of extraordinary Latinas who made significant contributions to the community, strongly imprinting their presence onto state history through courageous efforts.
The goal of the project — Arizona Latina Trailblazers — Stories of Hope, Courage and Determination, is to perpetuate these legacies with generations of leaders.
These stories c will be used in teachers’ earning unit for grades 5-8. The oral histories and accompanying video vignettes will be digitall preserved in the Arizona Memory Project.
This year’s Arizona Latina Trailblazers will be recognized at a reception on March 27 at the Phoenix Art Museum,
Latina nominees must have made significant contributions to Arizona communities in one or more of the following areas: Government/Public Service, Education/Arts, Health/Social Services, and Community Activist/Leadership. Recognition should include contributions made as an Arizona resident.
