By Francisco Romero. – With Mexico’s 3-2 victory over the United States in the CONCAF Cup, Mexico’s Interim Head Coach, Ricardo Ferretti feels he has accomplished what he was asked for when he took the task of temporarily leading the Mexican team.

“I feel good, I feel at ease, I feel happier then when I got here,” said Ferretti after the match against the USMNT.

With the victory over the U.S., Mexico will participate in the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup in Russia.

“I feel very good that I was able to deliver what I promised Decio de Maria and Gillermo Cantu, our goal was to qualify for the Confederations Cup, to deliver accountability and we did it, that gives me a great feeling of accomplishment,” added Ferretti.

Ricardo “El Tuca” Ferretti will by replaced by Colombian Juan Carlos Osorio, who will take over the team on Wednesday October 14th.

“Juan Carlos Osorio will take over the post and he will have our total support,” Ferretti told reporters at the Rose Bowl.  “With our support, his guidance and the players performance he will bring good results for the benefit of Mexico.  Today is a day that we should celebrate and keep thinking in a positive way, thinking that we could be better.”

For the time being, Ferretti will assume his regular duties as the head coach of the Tires of Nuevo Leon, a post he never left, but shared while heading the Mexican National Team.

“Nothing changes here, I will be back with Tigres,” he said.  “In no way shape or form will I think I am better than anyone else, I am a very humble person with a low profile and low ego and when I return to Tigres, I will work our players harder, because we are not doing so well.”
