Mexico Cuts Roster to 25 Players for Match Against U.S.
By Francisco Romero. – The countdown for the Mexico – US Clash for the CONCAF Cup has begun; the game will take place October 10th at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California.
Mexico and the United States Men’s National Team will be playing for the right to represent the CONCACAF area in the Confederations Cup 2017 in Russia.
According to CONCACAF rules and regulations, the roster has to be cut down to 23 players by Monday, October 5th.
After playing the US Men’s National Team, El Tri will face Panama on October 13th in Toluca, Mexico.
Fourteen players will report to training camp in Mexico City on Sunday while the rest of the players will arrive Monday.
After the game against Panama, interim head coach Ricardo “El Tuca” Ferretti will leave the team, as he agreed to only coach four games.
It is not yet known who will replace Ferretti on a permanent basis.
The following is the list of the 25 players who were called by the Mexican Federation:
