Man Kills Wife & Posts Photo of Her Body on Facebook

A 31-year-old man from South Miami has been charged with first-degree murder after fatally shooting his wife, and confessing to the murder via his Facebook page.

According to NBC 6, Derek Medina shot his 26-year-old wife, Jennifer Alfonso, following a domestic dispute.

Medina told Miami-Dade Police that he and Alfonso got into a fight at around 10 a.m. Thursday. Alfonso threatened to leave Medina, but he tried to stop her. At that moment Alfonso began punching Medina in the face prompting the 31-year-old to head to their bedroom to grab his gun.

When Medina showed up to their kitchen with the gun, Alfonso grabbed a knife, but Medina was quickly able to snatch it away from her. Alfonso began punching Medina again and this is when he shot her.

Following the fatal shooting, Medina took to his Facebook to post a photo of his dead wife with a caption that said, “RIP Jennifer Alfonso.”

The graphic photo showed Alfonso bent backwards on the floor with her knees bent, her left arm and face covered with blood.

After posting the photo, Medina later wrote the following on his Facebook:

“I’m going to prison or death sentence for killing my wife love you guys miss you guys takecare Facebook people you will see me in the news my wife was punching me and I am not going to stand anymore with the abuse so I did what I did I hope u understand me”
