Mabella Chic: Fashion, Family & Community

As moms, we often tend to spend so much time focusing on family that we forget to take care of the little things that make us feel good. Between business meetings and the play dates, we can go a million miles an hour everyday. However, if you’re a mom that’s managed to master the perfect balance between work, fun and play, congratulations! You are officially considered to be a SUPER MOM.

Women who are able to balance family and a profession are now grasping the attention of designers. Such is the case of Mabella Chic (started by Mabel Cortez_, a brand that’s made it their niche to be mindful of the busy mom, all while keeping her stylish and comfortable Originally from Long Beach, California, Mabel is a proud first-generation Mexican-American who has used her work ethic to achieve her goal of becoming a fashion designer.

After her daughter was born, Mabel was inspired to completely rebrand her already successful clothing line with the help of Creative Director Jenesis Laforcade. Together, they built designs that kept the “it mom” looking great without compromising comfort or style. Cortez takes great pride in selecting quality fabric for her pieces and putting so much thought in every of the 17 garments in the collection.

As a busy mom and businesswoman, Mabel has found the time to again work together with Jenesis on their year fashion show called Brave Wings. The event was created to offer a platform for local designers, all while giving back to the community.

This year, Brave Wings chose to help the Arizona Burn Foundation with part of the proceeds from the event.

Brave Wings will be taking place at The Vintage on July 16th, with a line up of several talented designers, including Women Touch Apparel, Last Ones Left, My Style Mode, Mabella Chic, Electric Lyon, Nazila Couture, Lana May Collaboration and Hamate Designs.
