Larry Hernandez to Face Kidnapping, Assault Charges in South Carolina Trial
Larry Hernandez is getting ready for trial.
The 38-year-old Mexican regional singer was arrested late last week at the LA/Ontario International Airport on an outstanding warrant alleging that he kidnapped a South Carolina concert promoter.
He was taken to the West Valley Detention Center and held without bail.
On Wednesday, he waived his right to a trial before a judge at San Bernardino Superior Court. He will not be tried in California, though, and now he’s being extradited to South Carolina where he’ll be facing a trial on charges of kidnapping and assault.
Larry’s attorney, Manuel H. Miller, hasn’t released an official comment on the matter, but said he’s ready to fight the case.
According to the publication, “La Opinion,” Larry’s accusations stem from a concert in mid-August, where he allegedly became angry when the promoter of the concert didn’t want to pay him the amount he was asking for. He wanted to pay Larry $14,000, but Larry asked for $30,000.
The publication then claims that the singer held the promoter against his will and beat him up.
