The Valley is buzzing with the start of the New Year! Tons of new events are making their way to the Phoenix area, and we’ve condensed it down to the top ten just for you! From sporting events, to food festivals and concerts, here are the top ten events you will not want to miss:
College Football Playoff National Championship Game
‘Tis the season all football fans have been waiting for! The college-football season is coming to an end with a duel between the Clemson Tigers and the Alabama Crimson Tide.
If you can’t go to the game, downtown Phoenix will be transformed into the Championship Campus presented by Ak-Chin Indian Community, along with the official Playoff Fan Central and the AT&T Playoff Playlist.

2016 Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction
The world’s greatest collector car auction is back to Scottsdale. The 45th annual Barrett-Jackson car auction is kicking off January 23rd at the Westworld of Scottsdale. Earlier, it was announced that Paramount Pictures and American filmmaker Michael Bay will be auctioning off two vehicles used in the Transformers movie franchise.

Disney on Ice: Frozen
Watch Anna, Elsa, and your other favorite Disney characters brought to life on “Disney on Ice: Frozen,” as it stops by Phoenix this January. Anna, a girl with an extraordinary heart, embarks on an epic journey to find her sister, the magical Elsa, who is determined to remain secluded as she finally feels free to test the limits of her powers.
Audiences will get to sing along with such musical masterpieces as “Let it Go,” “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” and “Fixer Upper.”

Chocolate & Wine Experience at MIM
Chocolate and wine, a perfectly indulgent combination of flavors and sophistication, takes center stage at the Musical Instrument Museum (MIM) on January 22nd. The Chocolate and Wine Experience will highlight 10 local chocolatiers, 10 local wineries, a chocolate lovers dream photo booth, chocolate painting, chocolate art displays, chocolate massages, local chocolate beers, chocolate fountain, wine tasting, wine glass etching and more.

Peter Pan 360 in Scottsdale
Beginning January 13, Valley of the Sun audiences will experience Neverland in a whole new way with a spectacular innovative stage production of PETER PAN that combines intimate theater-in-the-round, overhead surround CGI video projections, actors in dazzling flying sequences forty feet in the air, and magical puppets that bring J.M. Barrie’s classic tale to fantastical life. Las Favoritas de Frida: Selections from the Heard Collection
The Phoenix Fridas and the Heard Museum are teaming up to bring fans of Frida Kahlo’s work a collection of items pulled from the museum’s collection of Mexican art. The items were all chosen with Frida in mind. Some of the pieces found look like they were pulled straight from Frida Kahlo’s closet — colorfully embroidered blouses, large stone necklaces, shawls (rebozos) and ornate jewelry with beads and coins.

Dinosaurs in Motion at the Arizona Science Center
If your child is a lover of all things science, then this is the place to be! Dinosaurs in Motion is exceeding expectations at the Arizona Science Center, bringing an amazing display of 14 fully-interactive, anatomically inspired, life-sized metal dinosaur sculptures by North Carolina artist, John Payne.
